Company History

Started by Kenji Ao, the first president, as Mokuken Chemical Manufacturing Company in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka, engaged in the manufacture and sales of special industrial detergents.

Establised independent manufacturing department in Hanaten, Joto Ward, Osaka.

Established Mokuken Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd., in Miyakojima Ward, Osaka.

Established new Tokyo sales office in Funawatari, Itabashi Ward, Tokyo.

Constructed a new No. 2 plant in Hanaten, Joto Ward, Osaka.

Hirokazu Ao appointed chief executive officer, following the death of President Kenji Ao in December 1982.

Constructed a new Tokyo sales office in Daimon, Itabashi Ward, Tokyo.

Constructed a new Tokyo sales office and associated plant in Hikigun-Ogawamachi in Saitama Prefecture.

Constructed a new headquarters in Konohana Ward, Osaka, to integrate Head Office and the Kansai Plant Manufacturing Department. Changed company name from Mokuken Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd., to Mokuken Co., Ltd.

Established the Mokuken Co., Ltd., Ho Chi Minh Office in Vietnam.

Established Vina Cosmo Co., Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as a solely owned subsidiary of Mokuken Co., Ltd.

Constructed a new building (in the Higashi-Matsuyama Industrial Park) in Hikigun-Namegawamachi, Saitama Prefecture, and moved the Tokyo sales office and associated plant into the new building.

Established the Shanghai Office of Moka Co., Ltd.

Established Shimaya International Trading (Shanghai) Company, in Shanghai, China.

Expanded Tokyo sales office and associated plant. Established an 804.1m² clean room for manufacturing chemicals and a plant with the same environment.

Yoshiharu Yamakawa appointed chief executive officer.

Opened a Tokyo sales office in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

Relocated Head Office from Konohana Ward, Osaka, to Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima Ward, Tokyo.

Merged Mokuken Co., Ltd., and Cosmo beauty Co., Ltd., to consolidate management resources and began operations as Cosmo beauty Co., Ltd.

Established the Cosmetics Department of Mokuken Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd., as an independent operation in Oyodo, Kita Ward, Osaka, and established Cosmo beauty as a limited company.

Changed the corporate structure of Cosmo beauty from a limited company to an incorporated company.

Moved to Konohana Ward, Osaka, to integrate Head Office and the Manufacturing Department.

Constructed a new head office plant in Konohana Ward, Osaka, alongside Mokuken Co., Ltd., (Konohana Ward, Osaka).
